It seems to be a long time coming but one day Americans will wake up to the fact that the biggest threat to American security is America. As long as the US tries to impose their ideal of a perfect world on people who do not agree with them they will be under threat. As long as the US takes on the role of global law enforcer they will be under threat. This is not a difficult concept to grasp but one the Americans are either unwilling or too egotistical to understand.
This is not an opinion which is confined to those the US defines as enemies. Europeans and Australians en mass are at odds with their own leaders. The leaders of these regions open their arms to American ideals and principles while the citizens of these regions are not so enthused.
Then it becomes even less surprising that those countries who do not welcome American ideals and principles reject and resist. This is in no way any kind of validation of terrorist. This avenue is one of the lowest forms of resistance and, in practice, does more damage to the locals than to those seen as the oppressor: the USA. Much more can be achieved by debate and public, non-violent demonstration. This was shown by legends such as Ghandi and Mandela.
American’s are welcome to enjoy the lifestyles, ideologies and principles that they find desirable. What they should not be doing is trying to impose said ideals on anyone else. This is not their choice and, regardless of their opinion, they should keep their principles to themselves. If other countries wish to adopt these they will do so on their own and in their own time. Democracy is not something which can be forced. The journey to democratic rule can be a long one and not something which can be done if a nation is not ready to embrace it.
